Yup, you read it right. Today’s game is Out of Order. We hope you understand as you check for yourself.
Jokes aside, it really is a very artsy and interesting game! Go beyond the title screen “tutorial” level, and you’re met with a very eye-catching and fun puzzle to play. Add the music and the quirky sound effects, and you’re in for quite a good time.
Don’t worry, you’ll re-order more than just letters here, we assure you!
Out of Order
We really like the art in this game!
Five game insights we think will pique your interest!

The Sun and Moon
The jumping and phasing feel so crisp!
The Sun and Moon gives you everything you’d be looking for in a casual platforming game. Easy on the eyes, easy to learn, and easy to get addicted to. Like most platformers, this game has its own gimmick to set itself apart from the crowd, and it works splendidly, in our opinion.

Sort the Court!
We sincerely apologize to the people we sacrificed to the sea monster (for the greater good).
Sort the Court! is a casual resource management game. Cute, beginner-friendly and has a bit of a story to it, you’ll be surprised to find out you’ve sunk thirty minutes into it after you’re done. We have to admit, we did actually finish this game (yes, there’s an ending!), even though there are a few repetitive NPCs.

Game About Squares
If enjoying this game makes us squares, so be it.
Game About Squares is… a game about squares. It’s as upfront as a puzzle game can be. You have color-coded squares that follow certain directions, and you have to match them all up with one another. Be warned, it can get quite challenging at some levels!

Wordlike
WE. LIKE. NUMBERS. GOING. UP.
Wordlike markets itself as a word game version of Balatro. And it 100% is! If you don’t know what Balatro is and what makes this game special, think of it as this: Imagine getting a high score from using the most obscure words and big value letters in Scrabble… then multiplying each letter by 10 because you were able to buy a doodad from all your winnings.

All the games we listed above are from very old genres, yet they still find a way to hook us in. That’s the power of video games, making classics become modern hits with just a bit of technique, presentation and innovation!
With that in mind, we have an apt quote from Erik Prince, an American businessman, investor, author and former U.S. Navy SEAL officer:
“The video game industry is constantly evolving. The sheer creativity matched with cutting-edge technologies gives me the comfort that innovation is alive and well.”

Before we end today’s newsletter, we would like to offer our sincerest respects to the recently departed Pope Francis and our Christian friends. We hope that our games and our podcast episodes can offer a good way to bounce back from this solemn time.

That’s all for this month. See you in May!
