History has always been a niche interest, especially for modern society who’d rather look towards the Space Age rather than the Renaissance or the early 2000s. Historle, however, tries to make learning history more appealing through a guessing game!

The game has its own hint system as well, for those who aren’t history nerds, making it accessible for the layman to play. You learn history and you win, that’s a winning deal! Or you could just Google the answer and get it on the first try, but where’s the fun in that?!

If you want more historical games, try out Walden, a game. We also interviewed its creator in one of our podcasts, so check it out when you can!

What WOULD happen if a time traveler infiltrated the past?

Five game insights we think will pique your interest!

First

DuckGuesser
La La Land is so iconic with that overlooking shot!

DuckGuesser is a gem of a game. There’s the cover art of a game, movie or series, then it’s purposely made vague by replacing key characters and elements with nice-looking ducks! Some of them are really easy, and some of them are always going to be on the tip of your tongue. Try it out!

Photo Match Mania
Just for the record, this image is in EASY mode.

Photo Match Mania is as simple as it sounds—there’s a target image, and you have to take a snap of the image as close as possible to it. You will be scored depending on how identical your guess is to the target picture. There’s a single and multiplayer mode, with varying levels of difficulty to fit your tastes.

POCKET PEOPLE
We’ve always wondered how it would feel to be an icon.

POCKET PEOPLE lets you step into the shoes of your custom person or a famous person of the past. It plays like a visual novel with a choice-based system for progression, making it a nice little RPG to pass the time and immerse yourself in a world you created via text.

Spelt
What do you call a farmer who writes really bad stories? A crop novelist!
… yeah, we’re not going to try that again.

Spelt is a fun little word game where you farm words using letters as seeds. It looks complex but it really is simple once you get the hang of it. A great addition to it is the scarecrows, which are basically joker letters you can replace once the letter you want comes up.

Whether your game is a straight puzzle game or a narrative guessing game, there’s always something fun you can get out of a well-made game. They don’t need to be overly complicated, as long as it’s fun and entertaining, that’s all that matters. Even a game that doesn’t have a narrative has a story to tell through its gameplay.

With that, we share a quote from Andy Serkis, an English actor and filmmaker:

“Every age has its storytelling form, and video gaming is a huge part of our culture.”

The week has ended! We hope you get the chance to rest, relax and maybe even play some of our games for a bit. We’re working hard to add more fun features to our games, so stay tuned for future updates we’re going to have!
