Video games, at the end of the day, are meant to entertain. While some people find extreme difficulty a challenging and fun time, and others find relaxation through simple games that offer easy wins, ultimately, it all boils down to the big question:

“Are you having fun?”

For us, games like Crosswordle, Kakuro, and other titles, such as Devin Spikowski’s Word Peaks, offer a great balance of challenge and entertainment.

5 brainy game insights you’ll love!

Alright, we know we asked this several weeks ago, and there was a split in votes, but hear us out. Crosswordle is harder than Wordle, in theory at least.

Even certified MIT-level geniuses like Elyot Grant run into the difficulty conundrum, with him asking himself, “Is it more fun to jump to the hardest level and get your ass kicked over and over, or to play through 20+ runs to unlock things and climb slowly?”

The creator of the notorious Semantle word game actually made another puzzle game that has adjustable difficulty and is, in general, more approachable— Deco Deck. It’s a game that is, by description, similar to KenKen.

If you want a game that’s quirky, fun and can be both easy as pie and frustratingly hard at the same time, Lil Snack’s “What The?” games might be up your alley!

For last week’s trivia, the answer is Ä! Congratulations to the single person who got it, you rock!

The Finnish alphabet is filled with umlauted letters. While Ä seems like it would fit in a lot of Finnish words, it’s actually harder to use in a game like Scrabble, even with a dictionary, making it a rare and powerful tile.

Let’s start with this week’s question:

What is your preferred level of daily game difficulty?

We’re referring to single-player daily games here, in particular.

Would you look at that, it’s already the end of the week, and the start of September! The holiday season is slowly creeping in, so before your trips start, make sure to save our podcasts through Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

That’s all for this week. See you next Friday!
