The challenge of word weaving
An old game concept given a modern revival

Word games have been popular ever since languages and alphabets were invented. The one we’re introducing this time hails back to 1877, a game based on the “word ladder” invented by Lewis Caroll (who invented more fun word games).
Weaver is a word-weaving game, where you’re given a starting and ending word. You have to make a ladder of words that leads up to the target word, and the catch is that you can only change one letter at a time per each new word you add to the ladder.
Frankly, we challenged ourselves and only finished one, then went back to the comforts of our very own Crosswordle. Haha!

Five game insights we think will pique your interest!

Mornings are a mixed bag. Some people like an early start to their day, and some curse the beeping of their alarm clock. Regardless, there is a certain charm to mornings that isn’t present at any other time of the day, and Good Morning! has the visuals and mini puzzles to back it up.

We found a free card game. Well, not like the card game you’re thinking of, but it’s still technically a card game. It’s a fun and easy-to-understand game of just moving Forward. There’s a bit of a challenge too, and several characters to unlock!

There’s just something about Polish-made indie games that hit differently, and funnily, this one is recommended by the Polish government too! Waterworks is a free game where you are tasked with managing a small village’s waterworks needs, and it’s up to you to make sure that every house has the water they need and that new technologies are made.

Remember OutRun? Yeah, that arcade racing game! A devoted fan of the game made this modern fan version of it, and it plays just as well as we remember! Oh, all the lunch money we lost to this game…

From challenging word games to relaxing morning simulators, video games have the special power to charm and pull us into their world or systems. Not everyone plays video games, but there is always a game that fits someone, somewhere. Some are even gamers without realizing it themselves!
And to the enchanting pull of video games, we share a quote from Harmony Korine, an American filmmaker, actor and author:
“Sometimes, when you watch people play a video game, they seem lost in this wormhole, or in a trance.”
