Not many are confident with their number operation skills, but anyone can be with the help of games.

Math can be really fun. Wait, don’t run yet! We’re serious when we say it can be fun!
Sure, it’s not everyone’s favorite subject back in school, but when properly gamified, it becomes really entertaining and can even become very competitive—and not the kind of math competitions you probably dodged back in 5th grade.
MathHeads is a basic arithmetic game made to help you feel more confident with your mental math skills. It has all kinds of difficulty that caters to both beginners and experienced mental math enthusiasts, and there’s even a multiplayer feature!
Funnily, one of its creators admitted that he’s bad at mental calculation, as he says in our latest podcast episode!

Do you love the feeling of getting millions of money in a game and just being able to build and buy everything you want in that world? Then bring out the math and economic genius hiding within you by trying out Cities: Skylines. It’s definitely like the Sims, but with a bit of math and more on making you and your city reeeeeeally rich.

Ah, math… the dreaded subject of every kid of every generation. The youth were adverse to math back then, because as our generation used to say, “Math is for squares.”
But now, math is becoming more mainstream, especially with popular video games. We swear kids in Fortnite nowadays are really good at crunching the damage numbers each weapon has.
With the emergence of readily accessible technology and video games like Mathler and MathHeads available for modern teachers to adapt into their curricula, the stigma around math might be coming to an end.
And to that, we share a quote from Danica McKellar, American actress, mathematics writer, and education advocate:
“Math is like going to the gym for your brain; it sharpens your mind.”
