The best Black Friday deals for games

Max out on discounts and save some bucks

If you celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday, we hope you were able to spend it with some family and friends.

And since it’s Black Friday in the US today, we thought it would be fun to highlight a few of our favorite gaming-related deals that might save you some cash.

We’re not affiliated in any way with these products—we just think you might enjoy them.

But if you want to save your money, we recommend playing Sudoku or Kakuro if you have some free time!

Five game deals you’ll love!

First

If you love Sudoku, practice your skills with something more hands-on. This little black book of Sudoku has puzzles with actual sheets to write on. Interestingly, the puzzles here are set and edited by Will Shortz, the New York Times Crossword puzzle editor.

Do you have a Nintendo Switch? It’s one of the most popular consoles nowadays due to its affordability, portability and great selection of games. And since it’s Black Friday, there are many Nintendo game discounts to look out for!

If you’re doing a sheet puzzle and want a high-quality tool to make the solving experience far smoother and more enjoyable, then you need a good pencil. I recommend the Blackwing 602, as its graphite is in the right range of firmness—perfect for writing.

This year’s Black Friday is preceded by Thanksgiving—back-to-back holidays! And that means a lot of leftovers to work with. If you’re planning to play for hours on end, then it’s best to stock up on gaming snacks made from Thanksgiving leftovers. Trust us, if you’re going to play any kind of game that involves brain power or hand-eye coordination, having some good food will make a big difference!

Or, if you just want to buy some healthy snacks, snag a discount from this subscription snack service.

While most games nowadays are digital, don’t forget that some types of games are best played in a physical state—like puzzles! If you’d like to unwind this weekend and take your time picking away a puzzle, check out these discounted jigsaw puzzles!

Regardless of what kind of puzzle you’re going to play during this holiday and weekend, remember that most of them involve patience. Even the smallest Sudoku grid or crossword sheet can become a conundrum if you keep rushing.

Speaking of which, Stephen Sondheim, a well-known American composer and lyricist, had this to say about crossword puzzles in particular:

“The nice thing about doing a crossword puzzle is you know there is a solution.”
