Math and movies, do they work?

Math can be a slog, but would math in a cinema be any different?

Movies always have that gravity to them. Even corny and cheesy flicks have their own charm to them. But mathematics and mathematicians… in cinema? Would that really work? Well, you’d be surprised to know that many hit movies revolve around mathematicians, math and its applications and other interesting stuff regarding numbers!

Feeling like you can unleash the wrath of your math skills today? Try out our game Mathler—a Wordle-inspired math game that’s tons of fun and educational too!

Five game insights we think will pique your interest!

When it comes to making math fun, one of the most prominent dice games known to the world is Yahtzee. While mostly older generations play this five-dice number game, some classic-loving younger people also enjoy playing Yahtzee! Even researchers are into it and have done research that basically tells you all you need to know about Yahtzee.

Feeling a bit strategic today? Why not consider trying out the classic board game Risk? It has all a tactical thinker wants in a game—situational assessment, management and competing! Keep in mind though, Risk is a board game for people who have time to think and strategize, and a full game can last hours and even a few days (with breaks, of course!)

You have Risk the board game already but don’t know how to play? Not to worry, here’s a brief explanation of how you can play it with your group. What Dungeons and Dragons (or D&D to most) is to roleplayers, Risk is to tactical gaming enthusiasts. So don’t be afraid to explore this ageless game with your friends!

Looking for a word search game your child can play? Here are several word search sheets that are designed for children to play! This is especially useful when you’re trying to limit the amount of device usage among your children but still want them to be able to play and learn.

January will be ending soon, as well as the last leg of the winter season in the U.S. Do you have any plans for the upcoming months? While planning ahead is crucial to leading a good life, there are just some things that happen outside of your control. If life was a puzzle, then these uncontrollable factors are things you play around with, like grids or tile pieces.

Don’t let these factors become problems that will derail your state of mind, rather, turn them into solvable problems that can be rationally dealt with. This is in reference to what Quincy Jones,  an American producer, composer and songwriter said in the past:

“That's why I was always maniacal about transforming every problem into a puzzle which I can solve. I can solve a puzzle—a problem just stresses me out.”
